If you want to use a type of airsoft pistol that is truly powerful, look no further than the segment of gas airsoft pistols. These are especially great because gas power is inherently more power than anything an electric piston could produce. Instead of a purely physical force launching each shot, it is a free-flowing gas. Rates for electric pistols are usually 120-250FPS, but gas pistols can reach as high as 450FPS!
Of course, the primary disadvantage of a gas airsoft pistol is the requirement of continuously purchasing more canisters to supply the pistol with. Thankfully, these are not that expensive and can be ordered in bulk online, so you can have a stock of them to use for months at a time. In exchange for all the extra power you are getting, it's definitely worth it to make this choice.
If you do want to use electric pistols, there are some good options out there, you just have to pick one that still has a high FPS rate. The better electric pistols are more expensive than the cheaper kind, but if you aren't going to get a gas pistol, you should definitely choose the right electric alternative.

The Uses of Airsoft Pistols
Airsoft pistols are quality sidearms that can be useful if your main gun runs out of ammunition. Sometimes you do not have time to switch magazines or reload a single magazine, and being able to quickly pull out another airsoft gun can be very useful. Most airsoft pistols are still powerful enough to get hits, and you will not be at a significant disadvantage against a rifle.
In fact, some people prefer to play only with pistols, even against those who are using strong airsoft rifles. I knew one guy who would only dual wield CM033 Electric Airsoft Pistols, and he still did very well, many games taking out everyone else on the other team. With enough training and experience, those who utilize pistols can be a deadly force to be reckoned with.

Why Play Airsoft?
Why would anyone want to play airsoft? What are the benefits of doing it? For one, it satisfies many of our inner desires for combat, yet without any of the realistic threats to our safety. In comparison to paintball, there is much less to set-up, and you can start up a game in as little as five minutes.
Also, the gear for airsoft is much cheaper than paintball, especially the ammunition. With paintball, you can pay twenty dollars for only one thousand balls; with airsoft, the same amount of pellets would only price at a few dollars! With these kinds of deals, it only makes sense that you should get in to airsoft.

Saving Money on Airsoft Rifles
Airsoft rifles are some of the most expensive airsoft products out there, so naturally you would want to save as much money as possible. To achieve this goal, you should consider buying a used airsoft gun. It probably will work as well as if it were new, yet you will save over fifty percent of the original cost.
As long as you shop around a variety of retailers, you are sure to find a deal. Many airsoft distributors have periods where they offer deals, and if you can catch a retailer while this is going on, you can walk away with really great savings.

Cool Airsoft Guns
There are some really cool airsoft guns out there that are unique and especially interesting. For example, the Classic Army Para is over eight hundred dollars and can shoot at an incredible rate and speed. On the field, you could take out an entire team at once.
Sniper rifles are also pretty cool. You can take out enemies from far away, and even though they are within your range, the enemy cannot touch you. Since most sniper rifles are single shot, you have to choose your shots carefully, but once you practice enough, you will have it down without a doubt.
